Zionists: We hate you because you are evil, not because you are Jewish
KHALED AMAYREH
I have been under fire of late from two diametrically opposite quarters. First, the fanatical, self-worshipping Zionists who think that non-Jewish suffering should never ever be compared with Jewish suffering. Needless to say, this psychotic attitude stems from deep-seated convictions that a Jew is a special creature whose life is worth more than the rest of humanity. Haven’t we noticed, for example, how Israel has made “Gilad Shalit”, t he Israeli soldier imprisoned by Hamas, a household name all over the world, while next to nothing is mentioned about the estimated 10,000 Palestinian political and resistance prisoners languishing in Israeli dungeons and concentration camps? And, second, some pro-Palestinian activists who believe that I should avoid invoking the holocaust in my writings lest this help legitimize the Zionist narrative and inadvertently justify Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people. To our pro-Palestinian activists, I, with all due respect, would like to say the following. I sincerely believe that we would be walking in the path of immorality if we denied or belittled other people’s suffering. Indeed, it is imperative that we retain our humanity and moral fabric in the course of this legitimate struggle against the evil state…

Israel’s Illegal Annexation of East Jerusalem
by Stephen Lendman
So says a confidential EU report revealed on March 7 by The London Guardian’s Rory McCarthy. It accuses Israel “of using settlement expansion, house demolitions, discriminatory housing policies and the West Bank (Separation) barrier as a way of ‘actively pursuing the illegal annexation’ of East Jerusalem.” More still, including restrictive permits, “closure of Palestinian institutions,” and various other ways to “increase Jewish presence in” the city, “imped e Palestinian urban development, and separate East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank” incrementally to annex it…

Darkness Renewed: Terror as a Tool of Empire
Chris Floyd
…When the Obama Administration speaks of “continuity” in American foreign policy, this is an integral part of what they are talking about. So look to see much more on TTP and the demon de jure, Baitullah Mehsud, as the bipartisan Long War grinds on and on, with its ever-present need for “catalyzing” – and terrorizing – the American people into support for the militarist project. ..

Sudan/Darfur is Test Case for Obama’s “Humanitarian” Aggression
by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir had no choice but to expel the western “aid” organizations that had merged with the American propaganda machine aimed at regime change in Khartoum. Obama operatives like UN Ambassador Susan Rice have for years been “eager to blockade Sudan’s ports” and to launch “selective” bombing raids against Sudan. When imperial doctrine claims the right to intervene whenever disasters overtake sovereign countries – and proceeds to create and exacerbate those disasters – then no government is safe against regime change. President Obama “appears to be fine-tuning a ‘humanitarian’ interventionist doctrine that is applicable to any point on the planet”..

Taliban say U.S. reconciliation offer “lunatic idea”
By Sayed Salahuddin
Taliban rejected on Wednesday a U.S. offer of “honourable reconciliation” as a “lunatic idea” and said the withdrawal of foreign troops was the only way to end the war in Afghanistan… U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an international conference on Afghanistan Tuesday that those members of the Taliban who abandoned extremism must be granted an “honourable form of reconciliation.” “This matter was also raised in the past,” said Taliban sp okesman Zabihullah Mujahid, referring to comments by Obama last month who spoke of reaching out to moderate Taliban. “They have to go and find the moderate Taliban, their leader and speak to them. This is a lunatic idea,” Mujahid said by telephone from an unknown location.
The 21,000 extra U.S. troops ordered by Obama to join the 70,000 foreign soldiers now fighting insurgents in Afghanistan showed the United States wanted the war to continue, Mujahid said, and the Taliban would keep fighting till they left. “There is no other way. We want our freedom and respect for our independence,” Mujahid said…

Gaza Sea… Bullet for Each Fish
Shaimaa Mustafa, IOL
Sea has always been Ibrahim Shahada’s life. For years he used to join fellow fishermen heading to the shores with the first sun beams. Today, the 50-year old Gazan says the word sea has become a synonym of fear and death. “We are now terribly terrified every time we try to get into the sea,” Shahada told IslamOnline.net. “it’s not that we fear the rolling sea waves, but the much more dangerous Israeli war machines yearning for a chance to shoot at us.” Along with the 40k m Gaza seashore, Israeli military ships keep roving to threaten any Palestinian boat that dares to get any deeper into the water. “As soon as we log into the sea, we face a sudden burst of machine gunfire rattling from their military ships,” Shahada said…

Dr. Hassan Najjar, the Chairman of the Association of Arab Doctors in Europe, said in his address, that “three months after the barbaric Israeli aggression on the Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip, it is necessary to work together t o establish a museum which documents all the past and current Israeli war crimes, genocide and the blockade in Gaza”. This bold and strong proposal, to open a museum documenting the Israeli war crimes proposed by Dr. Najjar was widely welcomed attendants to the event, among them many doctors, diplomats ambassadors and intellectuals and artists…

A Call for Boycott
Rania Masri and Marcy Newman
In remembering and commemorating Land Day, March 30, 1976, when six Palestinians were killed and almost 100 wounded by Israeli forces in Sakhnin during unarmed protests against the confiscation of Palestinian lands in Galilee; in remembering the December 2008 Israeli savagery against the Palestinians in Gaza; in recognizing the continuity of attacks against Palestinians; and in remembering the numerous and ongoing Israeli atrocities against Lebanese, let us stand in active s upport of a movement that has the strength and vital potential to significantly contribute to this struggle for liberty and self-determination in this fight against Zionism. That movement is the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement, and one of its main demands is the boycott of and divestment from Israeli corporations and international corporations that sustain Israeli apartheid and colonialism…

Gaza’s children: a gloomy future
Yousef Al-Helou
The devastation left by the Israeli war on beseiged Gaza means youngsters now make a living by sifting through piles of rubble. Children as young as five collect metal and plastic to sell to scrap dealers. So poor are the families they come from that they miss school in order to provide minimal support for their brothers and sisters. Missing school for even a day before the recent massacres was considered a shame, not going at all is in danger of becoming a norm due to desp eration. Saeed Dardonah, is 14 years old; his family house was destroyed by F16 rockets during Israel ‘s 3-week offensive. “Look at my hands’, he says showing me the palms that are dusty and covered in cuts ‘I have been looking for copper wires and plastic amongst the rubble of our destroyed house and neighbourhood. I sell what I collect for 6 shekels ($1.50) per kilogram. I have left school to support my family” he said…
