Message From Guantanamo: “America is Double Hetler in unjustice”
Winter Patriot
I direct your attention to the following article, dated June 3, 2009, by Michelle Shephard of the Toronto Star: Gitmo protest captured on film WASHINGTON – A Guantanamo Bay detainee committed suicide late Monday just hours after two Chinese Muslim captives staged the detention centre’s first public protest, increasing the pressure on U.S. President Barack Obama to outline his plan of how he will close the offshore prison. Was it really a suicide? No details on which to base a judgment seem to be available, which is par for the course. And as for Obama and “pressure” to “outline his plan”, that’s not all the so-called “suicide” increases, but journalists can only say so much, even if they work in foreign countries…

This is how a Nakba is carried out
The On-going Nakba of the Palestinians: Mission Ethnic Cleansing – Part II
Israel war on Gaza: Share Album – Get Embed Code Reham Alhelsi
…Israel claimed, and still claims that the war of 1967 was a “defensive war”, and that the “existence of Israel was threatened”, despite ample proof contrary to this claim and the many testimonies of some of those responsible for giving orders at the time and some of who participated. Speaking about the “Egyptian threat”, Menachim Begin adm itted that: “In June 1967, we again had a choice. The Egyptian army concentrations in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. We must be honest with ourselves. We decided to attack him.”…During this so-called “defensive war” of 1967, Israel occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and Sinai. Of the 1.4 million Palestinians living in the Palestinian Territories before June 1967, some 400,000 were displaced during this second Nakba. Half of those displaced were refugees displaced in the Nakba of 1948. Similar to 1948, there were attacks on civilians, massacres, expulsion, destruction and looting and other atrocities and war crimes. Several villages in the West Bank (including Imwas, Yalu, Beit Niuba, Beit Marsam, Beit Awwa, Jiftlik and Al Burj), several refugee camps in the Jericho area, half of the city of Qalqilya and the whole of the Moghrabi Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem were depopulated and destroyed…

Obama and Israel: making a mountain out of a mole hill
Olivia Zemor
…And Obama, like Clinton, will he undoubtedly replay the “I did what I could” scene, but the Palestinians made the negotiations fail? How could an outlaw state oblige another outlaw state to act morally? Obama has just raised the US military budget and sent new troops to Afghanistan. Is it really like that, that you take the road to peace and justice? Public opinion is less and less duped. It knows that we can no longer count on our leaders to apply int ernational rights and justice, the right of people to self-determination. this is why it becomes us to demand that Israel account for herself and to consider as pariahs those who pursue that macabre comedy. The campaign to boycott Israel must continue to gain influence in the world…

A Story of Frustration, Anger and Patience
The Meaning of Yasser Arafat
RON JACOBS
Bassam Abu Sharif is a Palestinian fighter, journalist and the current press officer for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Originally a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), he eventually aligned himself with Yasser Arafat and became one of his closest advisors. His recently published narrative titled Arafat and the Dream of Palestine tells of his involvement in the Palestinian struggle focuses primarily on his years as Arafat’s advisor. Part military history and partly political, Sharif details the juncture of these two elements of the Palestinian struggle against occupation while simultaneously detailing his journey from participant and planner of some of the PFLP’s most spectacular military operations to confidant of Arafat. The story is one of a shifting allegiance within the PLO that is based on a changing definition of what Sharif believes possible in terms of Palestinian statehood. It is also one of continuous deception by the Israeli government as it proceeds on its path towards the construction of a Greater Israel and duplicity from supposed allies among the Arab nations…

Privatization of ‘Obama’s War’
Michael Winship
… The President asserted in his Cairo speech on Thursday that he has no desire to keep troops or establish permanent military bases in Afghanistan. But according to Jeremy Scahill, “I think what we’re seeing, under President Barack Obama, is sort of old wine in a new bottle. Obama is sending one message to the world,” he told Moyers, “but the reality on the ground, particularly when it comes to private military contractors, is that the status quo remains from the Bush era.” ..

Obama Administration Targets Environmental and Animal Rights Activists as Eco-Terrorists
Stephen Lendman
What began under George Bush continues under Barack Obama – targeting dedicated activists with “one of today’s most serious domestic terrorism threats,” according former FBI Deputy Assistant Director of Counterterrorism John Lewis before a Senate panel in May 2005. Called “eco-terrorism,” it grew out of the 2001 USA Patriot Act that created the federal crime of “domestic terrorism” and applied it to US citizens as well as aliens….

Al Qassam brigades calls on fighters to treat Abbas’ forces the same as Israeli troops
IMEMC News
The Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, issued a statement on Thursday calling on all fighters in the West Bank to defend themselves against the security forces of president Mahmoud Abbas, the same way the fighters counter the Israeli occupation. In a press conference in Gaza, Abu Obaida, spokesperson of the Al Qassam, said that the brigades will prevail in the West Bank “in spite of the aggression of the occupation and its tails”, and that if the security forces think that the Al Qassam is vanishing in the West Bank, “they should know we are here, and here we will prevail, God willing”…
