I spoke with Chris by phone… here are some news from the Rafah camp

All were tired and weakened after a night at the Rafah gate. Their internet connection, which was working till yesterday, has been cut.

The bar as well as the toilets have been closed. They have decided to dig a hole, protected by their banderole, improvising toilets. David, the italian, left today. But in the afternoon, a german woman arrived

with her 6 children to join her palestinian husband in Gaza. As she was refused to cross the border, she joined the group. The presence of  his family has boosted the enthusiasm of the group who pitched the  tents in one instant! This has generated a positive atmosphere to the point they were offered blankets and cigarettes for the night. The children are now resting, they are from 2 to 13-year olds, and the

adults prepare themselves for a new night at the Rafah gate.

Members of the IMORB are still camping to Open the Rafah Gate and they call any one who wants to support this action to join them there.

J’ai parlé par téléphone à Chris… voici donc quelques nouvelles du camp de Rafah

Ils étaient fatigués et affaiblis aujourd’hui, après une nuit passée devant le poste frontière. Leur connexion internet, qui fonctionnait jusqu’à hier, a été coupée. La buvette ainsi que les toilettes ont

été fermés. Il sont décidé de creuser un trou, protégé par leur banderolle, improvisant ainsi des toilettes.

David, l’italien, est parti aujourd’hui. Mais, dans l’après midi, une allemande est arrivée avec ses 6 enfants pour rejoindre son mari palestinien à Gaza. Comme elle s’est vue refuser l’entrée, elle a

rejoint le groupe. La présence de cette famille a boosté l’enthousiasme du groupe qui a remonté les tentes en un instant ! Cela a généré une dynamique positive, au point qu’ils se sont vus offert

des couvertures et des cigarettes pour la nuit. Les enfants se reposent maintenant, ils ont entre 2 et 13 ans, et les adultes se préparent à passer une nouvelle nuit aux portes de Rafah.

Les membres de IMORB campent toujours pour en finir avec le siège de Gaza. Ils appellent tous ceux qui veulent soutenir cette action à les rejoindre sur place.
