Afghan Resistance Statement
Statement by Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the mass martyrdom of the innocent people of Farah Province

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Those who pretend to promote peace and development have once again drenched some of our defenceless and innocent compatriots, most of them women, children and old people, in their own innocent blood in Ganjabad and Grani villages of Balabolok district of Farah province, under the pretext of peace and freedom. This is not the first time the Crusader beasts have resorted to such savage acts against the persecuted nation of Afghanistan and it will not be their last shameful crime in their successive inhuman atrocities in Afghanistan either. They have quenched their thirst of barbarism and terror with the mass martyrdom and wounding of thousands of defenceless human beings and the destruction of their homes on hundreds of occasions in various parts of Afghanistan. Every time the savage invaders commit such inhuman actions, martyring innocent women, children and the elderly in their barbaric bombing, they either describe all the civilian deaths as those of their so-called opponents or attribute them to wrong intelligence by their cowardly spies. However, if one looks at the reality these criminal actions by the invading aggressors, one sees they are part of a deliberate plan aimed at making the Mujahid nation of Afghanistan to give up their rightful resistance against them [...] The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, while sharing the sorrow of the grief-stricken families of th! ese inno cent Muslim martyrs is announcing the following points in connection with this tragic incident: 1. The Muslim and Mujahid nation of Afghanistan should strengthen the trenches of resistance and defence in order to prevent such atrocities by the invaders. It is only jihad and resistance that can punish the aggressors and can lead to rescuing the persecuted nation from their evil. 2. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan calls upon the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the international court for war crimes and the human rights organizations that they should no longer turn a blind eye on the inhuman crimes of these criminals..

Afghan girl’s burns show horror of chemical strike
Emma Graham-Harrison, Reuters

Life as 8-year-old Razia knew it ended one March morning when a shell her father says was fired by Western troops exploded into their house, enveloping her head and neck in a blazing chemical. Skip related content Now she spends her days in a U.S. hospital bed at the Bagram airbase, her small fingernails still covered with flaking red polish but her face an almost unrecognisable mess of burnt tissue and half her scalp a bald scar. “The kids c alled out to me that I was burning but the explosion was so strong that for a moment I was deaf and couldn’t hear anything,” her father, Aziz Rahman, told Reuters. “And then my wife screamed ‘the kids are burning’ and she was also burning,” he added, his face clouding over at the memory. The flames that consumed his family were fed by a chemical called white phosphorous, which U.S. medical staff at Bagram said they found on Razia’s face and neck..

FOCUS ON GAZA ‘Go back and die in Gaza’
By Stephanie Doetzer

Since Israel’s closure of the Gaza Strip in 2007, only severely sick Palestinians have been allowed to seek medical attention elsewhere provided they receive authorisation and security clearances from the Israeli authorities. However, getting the special permit that allows patients to leave Gaza for medical treatment is a bureaucratic hassle and, many Gazans say, comes with strings attached. According to the Israeli organisation Physicians for Human Rights (PHR ), Palestinian patients are increasingly being asked to make an impossible choice: Either to become collaborators with the Israeli intelligence apparatus – or to remain in Gaza without medical treatment…

Tales of Yankee Power: Inevitable Atrocities of the Terror War
Chris Floyd

…The Afghan troops were accompanied by American “advisors,” who called in the airstrike. But the response went far beyond the localized Taliban attack; obviously, American officials decided to flatten the surrounding villages as well — no doubt on the basis of the idea that inevitably takes hold in the minds of “counterinsurgency forces” in every disputed occupation of foreign lands: “There are no civilians, the natives are all out to kill us.” We have seen this mindset played out over and over again — most recently in Vietnam and Iraq. The most blatant and extreme expression of the idea — and its inevitable outcome — was on display this week in a quiet Kentucky courtroom, where former soldier Steven Green was convicted of murder and rape in the horrific atrocity he and his comrades carried out in the Iraqi village of Mahmudiyah…

Gaza 2009: The Moment of Truth
Dr. Haidar Eid – Gaza

Gaza has returned to its pre-massacre state of siege, confronted with the usual, conspiratorial, “international” indifference after 22 long days and dark nights, during which its brave people were left alone to face one of the strongest armies in the world — an army that has hundreds of nuclear warheads, thousands of trigger-happy soldiers armed with Merkava tanks, F-16s, Apache helicopters, naval gunships and phosphorous bombs. Gaza now does not make news. It’s people die slowly, its children malnourished, its water contaminated, its nights dark, and yet it is deprived even of a word of sympathy from the likes of Ban Ki Moon and the president of “Change; Yes We Can.”…

No War Crimes Committed in Gaza? VT Lawyer Challenges Israel’s Finding
Ken Picard

A Vermont attorney who visited the Gaza Strip in February to investigate allegations of Israeli war crimes, including two Middlebury College -connected shooting deaths, rejected Israel’s recent exoneration of its conduct, saying the investigation was “lacking in credibility.” February, James Marc Leas of South Burlington traveled to Gaza as part of an eight-member legal delegation from the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) to investigate why Is rael’s invasion had such a devastating impact on the civilian population…

A giant US military base emerges in Afghanistan
by Dan De Luce

In the forbidding Afghan desert, US engineers are carving out a sprawling military camp as part of a dramatic American troop build-up designed to confront Taliban insurgents. The desolate plain in southern Helmand province that Afghans call the “desert of death” has turned into a hive of frenetic activity, underscoring President Barack Obama’s decision to expand the US military commitment to the war. Defence Secretary Robert Gates flew into Camp Leatherneck on Thursday to get a first-hand look as dozens of bulldozers kicked up clouds of dust and soldiers swung hammers in searing heat…

The Arabs and the US
Galal Nassar

…If the Arabs are to hone their potential effectively and up their esteem in others’ eyes they must first settle their internal differences, starting with reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas. How can we possibly enter into a dialogue with our enemies when we cannot even speak with each other? How can we effectively negotiate with strangers when we are unable to reach agreement within our own ranks, leaving the field wide open for the enemy to play one of our factions off against the other? Who are those who might ally themselves with “our” cause supposed to aid and support? The advocates of peace talks or the advocates of resistance? The “moderates” or the “extremists?” To make matters worse, the Palestinian-Palestinian rift is spreading. Instead of a synthesis in Palestine, we have deepening contradictions in the rest of the Arab world, to the extent that they threaten to solidify into unbridgeable divides….

The new refugees
Marcy Newman, body on the line

There were 750,000 Palestinian refugees in 1948. Now upwards of 500,000 refugees–or more accurately internally displaced people–in Pakistan. People are fleeing to safer areas. living in tents. Why? because americans are bombing pakistan and creating proxy forces to do their dirty work. But Hillary probably has “deep regrets” over this too…

Hassanein: kidney patients in Gaza suffer due to the siege
Palestinian Information Center

Medical sources in the besieged Gaza Strip have warned that the number of kidney patients in Gaza was increasing rapidly as a result of the Israeli closure of the Strip’s crossing points that put their lives at extreme risk. Muaweyyah Hassanein, the head of the emergency department in the PA health ministry in Gaza Strip, noted that at least 700 Palestinian citizens were suffering from kidney failure, and that their health condition was deteriorating day after day because of the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip. He said that dialyses machines in Gaza hospital weren’t adequate to cope with that big number of patients, warning that many of the patients would die if they continue to be denied proper medical treatment abroad…
