A third intifada?
Marcy Newman, Body on the line
….while the attacks on Palestinians is beyond reprehensible, what is beautiful to see everyone resisting, and resisting together. I hope this gains momentum. we need to see more of resistance like this. One of my friends who was beaten up by the Israeli terrorists in al Quds saturday night defending the jaber home from the israeli colonists, who eventually stole the house and kicked out the family (2 of whom were sent to jail), came to have lunch with me today. he said t he resistance he is seeing in the old city feels like an intifada is brewing. a new intifada. Bush Shoe Thrower’s Family Fearful
By Ismail Kamal Kushkush, IOL Correspondent
Despite his jail term reduction, the family of Munthadar al-Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist who shot to fame after hurling his shoes at then visiting US President George Bush, remains fearful for his life. “Munthadar was severely tortured in jail and that is enough to have the court’s ruling annulled,” his brother Uday told IslamOnline.net in Khartoum. Zaidi, 30, was convicted by a Baghdad court on March 12 of assaulting a foreign head of state on an official visit to Iraq after throwing his shoes one after the other at Bush during his farewell visit to Baghdad in December…

Israel’s Two-Sided Coin
Joharah Baker
For Palestinians, it is hard to figure out what all the commotion is about. True, newly sworn in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is clearly not the most sympathetic person to the Palestinians’ plight. Neither is his foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman nor is the overwhelming majority of his cabinet. It is undeniable that Israel’s new government is one of the country’s most right wing governments yet. So, to the outside world, even the United States, this is ringing alarm bell s, pushing panic buttons everywhere. Except, that is, among the Palestinians. Benjamin Netanyahu or Tzipi Livni or Ehud Barak. What’s the difference? A few slogans and watery pledges to work for peace? Photo-ops with Palestinian leaders, cordial handshakes that hide deceitful agendas?..

‘Progressive’ Warmongers
Liberals rally ’round Obama’s war
Justin Raimondo
As President Barack Obama launches a military effort that promises to dwarf the Bush administration’s Iraqi adventure in scope and intensity, the “progressive” community is rallying around their commander in chief as obediently and reflexively as the neocon-dominated GOP did when we invaded Iraq. As John Stauber points out over at the Center for Media and Democracy Web site, the takeover of the antiwar movement by the Obamaites is nearly complete. He cites MoveOn.org as a prime but not sole example….

In Spite of Persistent Efforts to the Solv the Problem of Access to Medical Treatment Outside the Gaza Strip, PCHR Calls upon the Two Governments in Raallah and Gaza to Save the Lives of Gazan Patients before It Is Too Late
PCHR – Palestinian Centre for Human Rights
PCHR calls upon the ministries of health in Ramallah and Gaza to take immediate steps, including cancellation of all decisions that have led to halting the transfer of Gazan patients to hospitals outside the Gaza Strip, to ensure access of those patients to medical treatment. PCHR holds Israeli occupation authorities on the first hand, and the ministries of health in Ramallah and Gaza responsible for such deterioration, as the two governments in Ramallah and Gaza have taken a series of measures which have led to halting the transfer of Gazan patients to Israeli hospitals since last January, and to hospitals in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since last March.

CLEANSING THE LAND OF BREAD AND ARABS
DesertPeace Editorial
…That very same Torah teaches the Jew not to hate…. where is the uproar when that is violated? When an extreme rightwing member of the Knesset utters anti Arab remarks…. one representing a so-called religious party, what is done? He is provided with extra protection! (I was distressed to learn that this bastard lives very close to my home). Where is the uproar against his madness? WHERE???
Where is the uproar against the Neanderthal rabbis that have recently called for the expulsion or the genocide of the Palestinians? WHERE??? As in previous years, the Palestinians living on the ‘other side’ of the great wall of apartheid will be sealed in for the duration of the Holiday (8 days), literally making the State of Israel Arabrein for that period of time. Where is the uproar against this? WHERE??? …
